Una cuestión de nombreA question of naming

Lo mismo con otro nombre. El 29 de septiembre de 2026, la orden ejecutiva 14434 mandó a las agencias federales de EE. UU. llamar «Super Inteligencia» (SI), en sus comunicaciones, a lo que hasta entonces llamaban «inteligencia artificial», con la misma definición legal. No significa que las máquinas se hayan vuelto superinteligentes: la tecnología es la misma que el día antes de la firma. En España y en la UE, la norma que se nos aplica, el Reglamento de IA, sigue diciendo IA. Por eso usamos los dos términos: IA, que es como lo busca todo el mundo, y SI, para que nadie se pierda cuando lo lea en textos que vengan de EE. UU.The same thing under a new name. On 29 September 2026, Executive Order 14434 directed US federal agencies to use “Super Intelligence” (SI) in their communications for what they used to call “Artificial Intelligence”, keeping the same legal definition. It does not mean machines have become superintelligent: the technology is the same as the day before it was signed. In Spain and the EU, the law that applies to us, the AI Act, still says AI. So we use both terms: AI, because that is what everyone searches for, and SI, so nobody gets lost when they read it in texts coming from the US.
